In May 2023 George Hanson became the 500th person to play senior cricket for Clifton Alliance CC.
CACC chairman Dave Heartshorne presented George with his cap (pictured).
Club statistician Matt Phillips said, “Congratulations to George, and to the 499 players that have gone before him. They have their own piece of Clifton Alliance history.”
It was a busy month for George, who is a first-year Under 13 at CACC eligible to play senior cricket through his selection for representative cricket sides.
In May George also played for Yorkshire CCC’s Under 12s following a successful spell with North Yorkshire in regional cricket. He scored 9 (including one four) and took a run-out in Yorkshire’s 32-run win over Northamptonshire at Peterborough Town CC.
